Hard pages, made clear.

Plainly is a free Android app that rewrites hard web pages into plain, easy words.

Made for adults who find official pages hard to read.

The page says

Recipients are advised that failure to remit the overpayment may result in suspension of benefits.

Plainly says

The office paid you money you were not owed. You need to pay it back. If you do not, your help may be paused. This is called an

overpaymentMoney the office paid you that you were not owed.
. Paying it back late can lead to a
suspensionWhen your help is paused for a time.
.

Try it: tap a yellow word to see what it means. The app works the same way — and the original page is always one tap away.

How it works

  1. Give Plainly a page.
Paste text, share a page from your browser, or type a web address.

  2. Plainly rewrites it.
Short sentences. Easy words. The important parts are pointed out. Hard words are marked in yellow — tap one to see what it means.

  3. Check the original any time.
The real page is always there. Plainly shows its work and never hides what the page really said.

Nothing leaves your phone

  • All the rewriting happens on your phone.
  • No account. No sign-up. No ads.
  • Plainly collects nothing about you — not your pages, not your taps, nothing.
  • The internet is used only when you ask Plainly to fetch a page for you.
  • If a page looks like a scam, Plainly warns you — and still lets you decide.

Read the full privacy policy — it is short, because there is not much to tell.

Built in the open

Plainly's code is public. Anyone can read it and check that the app does what this page says. No black boxes.
